Finally. An answer to the question that has plagued scientists, theologians, and comedians for millennia: Will Judaism survive in space?
Come enjoy a screening of the documentary Fiddler on the Moon: Judaism in Space—with astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, astronauts Jeffrey Hoffman and Jessica Meir, and a quorum of rabbis and researchers—which explores how Jewish traditions could be practiced in space. Guest speakers from Westchester Amateur Astronomers (WAA) will hold a discussion after the screening.
A light lunch will be served.
About Westchester Amateur Astronomers
WAA is a not-for-profit organization open to people of all ages with the desire to learn more about astronomy and who share an interest in viewing the universe. We range from enthusiastic amateurs and educators to casual stargazers and families.
WAA was founded by three friends who wanted to help the general public see Halley’s Comet during its 1986 fly-by. They went on to found Westchester Amateur Astronomers in 1991. Activities include monthly presentations by respected names in astronomy and related sciences and observing nights beneath Westchester’s darkest skies.
