Join David Osborne, Historian with the St. Paul’s Church National Historic Site, for an engaging and information-packed program about the church’s role in our nation’s history and its connections to Abraham Lincoln. 151 years ago, in April of 1865, President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. It’s a story that we all know very well. However, it isn’t as well known that St. Paul’s Church in Mount Vernon has a striking and surprising connection to that terrible and historic event. The Church is part of the National Parks Service which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2016.
