Since 1987, Dr. Swenson has developed and directed inpatient, outpatient, and day treatment programs for borderline personality disorder patients based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy. He has served as a DBT trainer and consultant throughout the United States and Europe. Dr. Swenson is a widely published author on DBT, and
an internationally recognized trainer and expert in DBT implementation. Dr. Swenson has completed a book that will be published by Guilford Press in 2016 entitled DBT Principles in Action: Acceptance, Change and Dialectics. The books designed to help the DBT therapist use these principles in navigating difficulties in psychotherapy.
