Description: In June 2016, Hokule’a, a traditional Polynesian voyaging canoe will arrive in New York as part of the World Wide Voyage- Malama Honua- which translates to “care for our Island Earth”. 60 K Nautical Miles- 100 Ports Worldwide- 27 Nations- 4 Years- to bring the message of caring for 1 Earth by living sustainably.

Join us for an evening of learning about this journey with the viewing of the award-winning film: “The Navigators- Pathfinders of the Pacific”, first shown in PBS in 1983 and screened at many international film festivals.
A discussion will follow on the upcoming visit to NY in June 2016, and a possible stop in Yonkers by members of Halawai.
