For travelers, the biggest change is the series of new categories added to the list of acceptable travel purposes. American citizens can now visit Cuba for “temporary sojourn,” for personnel operating or servicing ships or aircraft, professional meetings, public performances (including workshops, clinics, exhibitions) and an extended list of humanitarian projects, among others.

More air carrier services will be facilitated (think code-sharing and more flights to Cuba), and it’s even getting easier for U.S. companies to film movies in Cuba. On the economic front, restrictions on payment and financing for certain exports have been removed or eased.
