Larchmont Avenue Church 2026 Rummage Sale

Spring is in the air! And that means Larchmont Avenue Church’s Annual Rummage Sale is coming soon!

For LAC, this highly anticipated annual tradition is always a labor of love. The ways this love is expressed are as varied as the many volunteers who make it all happen, but there is a common thread that runs through every explanation. In their own words, every member of the Rummage Sale team suggests that the thing that makes it all worthwhile is the opportunity to support their friends and neighbors. “For me,” says committee chair Kim Larsen, “the LAC Rummage Sale sparks joy! I feel good about repurposing items that would otherwise have ended up in a landfill. I smile when I see shoppers’ faces light up as they discover unique and affordable items. I enjoy working alongside friends to bring the rummage sale to life. And I LOVE giving rummage sale proceeds -- thousands of dollars -- to LAC’s nonprofit partners doing God’s work right here in our community!”

Another benefit of the sale is the financial support it provides to community charities. In 2025, the LAC Rummage Sale raised more than $29,000, all of which was donated to local nonprofits that provide a variety of much-needed services in our community and beyond. For example, the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Community Counseling Center used its 2025 grant to support graduate student interns and to address a backlog of local therapy requests. The STEM Alliance applied its grant toward the costs of the highly successful Co-op Camp, which helps local kids continue their academic and social progress through the summer months. Other mission partners who received support from last year’s sale include HOPE Community Services and The Sharing Shelf.

We would be remiss if we failed to mention another very important benefit: great bargains on fabulous, gently used merchandise! Designer clothing, housewares, sporting equipment, toys, and even small furniture items – all of these treasures and more will be waiting to be discovered. Plus, there is the bonus of knowing that, with every item we repurpose, recycle, and reuse, we are helping to keep our landfills emptier and our ecological footprints smaller. The Rummage Sale is a gem,” said one happy shopper. “I never fail to find one-of-a-kind treasures for amazing prices…and all proceeds go to charity! What’s better than that?!”
