Larchmont Library Announces Saturday Morning Sahaja Meditation

Join this series of FREE weekly Sahaja Meditation at the Larchmont Library.

LARCHMONT, NY - In today’s hectic world where it becomes harder and harder to find quiet and downtime, reducing stress and letting go of the things that weigh on us is more important than ever. Sahaja Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique that helps reduce stress and simultaneously increases wellness. It helps people focus and become more centered and better balanced. The best aspect of Sahaja Meditation is that anyone can do it and it’s always FREE.

Join Sahaja Meditation instructors Yulia Smirnova and Goutham Rayavarapu, on Saturday mornings beginning March 19 at 11:00am and continuing through April 30, at the Larchmont Public Library.

The Sahaja sessions, which are tailored to those attending, begin with a brief announcement and introduction followed by 30 to 40 minutes of instruction and practice. Start to finish; classes are no more than an hour in length. Each session’s activities will include meditation, breathing and simple physical exercises, music therapy, group discussion and various workshops. The instructors will primarily focus on meditation, not physical exercises, so there is no need to bring any special equipment, clothes or mats to the class.

The first session on Saturday, March 19, serves as an introduction to Sahaja Meditation and will feature live music as well as a special guest presenter. Alan Wherry, a former Director of Penguin Books, and cofounder of Bloomsbury Publishing PLC, has been practicing and teaching Sahaja Yoga Meditation for twenty-five years. He coordinated a program with HealthCorps, a 501c3 foundation, teaching high school students to meditate.
