Mamaroneck To Hold Info Session On Coyotes

A wildlife expert will offer strategies for keeping children and pet safety.

MAMARONECK, NY — Recent sightings of coyotes in the Village of Mamaroneck have led officials to schedule an information session to address concerns. Mamaroneck Mayor Tom Murphy said he has asked an expert in the field to come to the next board of trustees regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22.

Margaret Howell of the Wolf Conservation Center will be sharing strategies for keeping children and pets safe, as well as how to make the community less coyote friendly.

“It is important that in dealing with this issue we separate myth from fact and that we utilize scientifically proven strategies,” Murphy said in an email.
