Mamaroneck Manager Shifts to Job in Tarrytown
Slingerland replaces a man who is retiring after more than 17 years as manager in Tarrytown.

MAMARONECK, NY — The new village administrator for Tarrytown is someone well known to Mamaroneck village residents.
Richard Slingerland has been chosen to take over as village manager in Tarrytown April 3, 2017, the Tarrytown village board announced Wednesday.
Slingerland replaces Michael Blau, who is retiring after spending 36 years in municipal administration, of which 17-1/2 were in Tarrytown.

Slingerland’s duties in Tarrytown will include being responsible for the daily operations of the village and its departments, including oversight of 94 full-time employees.
The village board reviewed more than 35 resumes and interviewed eight qualified professionals.

Slingerland has about 29 years of local government experience. He has worked for the Westchester County Executive’s Office, the City of Yonkers Mayor’s Office and the Village of Rye Brook Administrator’s office.
He was also the Village of Tarrytown administrator from 1999 to 2002.
