Mindful Eating with Sangeeta Bansal, Ph.D.

Learn how to master the art of eating. Harness will power, create a loving acceptance of our bodies and food choices.

3-week lecture course - June 11, 18, 25
Saturdays @ 10:30am-12:00pm

We live in a culture of excess. Sometimes we lose the ability to know when we have had enough, and are caught up in a cycle of consuming mindlessly. When it comes to food, this pattern has enormous ramifications for our physical and emotional wellbeing. Mindful eating is designed to reevaluate our relationship with food, and to see eating as a holistic experience for body, mind and spirit. It’s not designed to be a diet program- but rather to appreciate how we can enjoy nourishing food without feeling weighed by guilt, remorse and regret – and without succumbing to a food addiction. We will also look at the neuroscience behind how and why we become addicted to certain foods.

This 3-week lecture course will discuss our aspirations and higher purpose with respect to food, our ability to harness will power, our ability to create an atmosphere of loving acceptance with our bodies and with our food choices. Using mindfulness techniques, we will practice several food meditations and learn how to master the art of eating with happiness and content.
