New Owner At Greek Restaurant in Mamaroneck

Although it’s only been open for about six months, in Mamaroneck recently announced a change in ownership.

The Kringas brothers Nick, a former general manager and George, a former executive chef, have sold their share in Nemea to their partners in KSXC Restaurant Group.  The brothers will now focus on running their parent’s restaurant in White Plains called Niko’s Greek Taverna.

KSXC Restaurant Group was originally formed by the Kringas and Skeadas families; Skeadas family members also own Artie’s Steak and Seafood on City Island. 

Spiro Chagares—who helped run Artie's Steak & Seafood for 16 years with the Skeadas family—will take over as managing partner at Nemea, according to a press release that was sent out last week.  Chagares has worked in the restaurant business for over 30 years.

The new executive chef will be Sterling Smith, who has worked in the restaurant industry for two decades, most recently as chef owner of the Sterling Inn in New Rochelle.  Smith has also been a lead instructor at the French Culinary Institute; he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA).

The menu will feature seasonal and vegetarian cuisine and fish native to the Greek and Mediterranean seas.  New variations on Greek classics will include T-bone lamb chops, lamb burgers, lavraki (sea bass), marinated chargrilled steak, spanakopita, octopus, souvlaki and Peloponnese vegetables.
