• Port Chester Swimmer to Attempt English Channel Crossing for Long Island Sound (talkofthesound.com) — Larchmont readers are being asked to cheer on a regional swimmer using a high-profile English Channel crossing to spotlight the health of nearby Long Island Sound. Port Chester resident and Old Greenwich business owner Drew Nemetz will attempt the 21‑mile swim in early October to benefit Save the Sound, tying his grueling challenge to ongoing local water-quality efforts.
