Residential Development Moratorium Could Be Extended in Larchmont

A developer wanted to make four lots out of one, which led to the ban.

Larchmont, NY — The Larchmont village trustees could extend the residential development moratorium that is set to expire.

Mayor Lorraine Walsh and the board listened to three hours of comments and recommendations Wednesday and will likely make a decision at Monday’s meeting, according to lohud.com.

KOSL Building Group wants to tear down the home at 40 Ocean Ave. in order to construct four new homes. The developer appealed the moratorium, said it’s being targeted by the village.

In an appeal of the village’s decision, the attorney for the developer confirmed prior to buying the property that no impediments existed to tearing down the existing house.
