Update: No Injuries Reported in Roof Collapse at Tequila Sunrise in Larchmont
The restaurant is located on Larchmont Avenue, and the incident occurred while it was open at about 12:30 p.m.
Updated at 2:24 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, 2015: The owner of Tequila Sunrise reports that there were no injuries following the Friday afternoon collapse of an overhang and portion of the roof of the popular restaurant on Larchmont Avenue.
“No one was hurt,” owner Melissa Perez told The Journal News. The restaurant was open for lunch at the time. “That’s all I’m thankful for right now, and that’s all I can say at this point.”
Initial reports of a possible explosion causing the collapse appear to be unfounded. The overhang is located in front of the restaurant, and it crashed to the sidewalk below.
