Soundshore St. Patrick's Day Parade Scholarship Winners Honored

Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade Scholarship Committee presented the annual award to two recent New Rochelle HS graduates.

The Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade Scholarship Committee honored their 2016 scholarship winners this year at Molly Spillane's on Thursday July 7th. The two winners are both New Rochelle HS graduates; Anya DiSalvo, who will be attending Columbia University, and Haley Fullerton, who will be attending Davidson College. Each were presented with a one-time $2500 scholarship to their respective college choice, along with proclamations, certificates and hearty congratulations from State Senator George Latimer, State Assemblyman Steve Otis, County Legislator Catherine Parker and Village of Mamaroneck Mayor, Norm Rosenblum. "The Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade exists to throw a great Parade for the sound Shore communities to celebrate Irish and Irish-American culture,” said Committee member Chris Regan, “as well as to provide scholarships for deserving students who have dedicated part of their lives to preserving Irish culture and heritage in our communities.” The Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade Scholarship Committee has now awarded a total of $20,000 in scholarships, a tradition that began five years ago with the first Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade. The Sound Shore St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a celebration for the entire Sound Shore community, from Port Chester to Pelham.
