THIS SUNDAY! 4th Annual Larchmont Spelling Bee!

Come be a part of one of Larchmont's most exciting annual events!

The Friends of the Larchmont Public Library will present its fourth annual Spelling Bee for Adults and Teens on Sunday, April 3, commencing at 4pm. The Spelling Bee will be held in the Social Hall at Larchmont Temple, 75 Larchmont Avenue (corner of Willow & Larchmont). Admission is free for spectators and refreshments will be available at 3:30pm.

Since its inception, the Bee has attracted swarms of residents, both as participants and spectators. According to Ellie Fredston, Bee organizer, “Last year the Bee attracted 20 teams whose members included government officials, lawyers, business owners, high school students, and spelling bee enthusiasts.” In addition, she added, “There were also hundreds of spectators lending their support and enjoying a fun afternoon.” Fredston noted that contributions from the Spelling Bee will help fund programs at the Larchmont Public Library that benefit the entire community.

Lou Young, Larchmont resident and CBS-TV news personality, returns as the Master of Ceremonies. Nancy Seligson, Mamaroneck Town Supervisor; Catherine Parker, County Legislator; and George Latimer, New York State Senator will again serve as Bee Judges.
