Toys Donated to Children at the Community Resource Center

Members of the Woman's Club of Larchmont, Inc. more than met the challenge to donate toys to the Community Resource Center in Mamaroneck

The Club wished to support the work the Community Resource Center does every day to transform lives in our community. The toys were distributed to the children at their holiday party held on December 18, 2025.
The Philanthropy Committee met initially to discuss a project for young children during the holidays. Working with Marco of the Community Resource Center, thirty children were chosen from ages 1-13. At the time, the committee thought this was an ambitious project and would not receive the needed toys. They were wrong. The generosity and spirit of giving by Club members was outstanding. Over 40 toys were collected for these disadvantaged children - more toys than ever anticipated. For these children, each toy is a treasure.
The Club members, although mostly seniors, became carefree children once again as they brought in their selected toy to the November Club meeting. They proclaimed they had the latest toy, the best toy or wanted to show how it worked. Others brought in a football, a cosmetic case, a book bag, a sport sweater, cash. The toys just kept coming in. The important message of giving and caring, apropos of the holiday season, was very much alive.
To complete the holiday party homemade brownies, cookies and hot apple cider were delivered compliments of the Club.
