UJA-Federation of New York Honors Westchester Women
Philanthropic Women Recognized at NY Lions Lunch
NEW YORK CITY (October 28, 2021) -- UJA-Federation of New York held its NY Lions Lunch on October 27, 2021, honoring Cindy R. Golub of Mamaroneck and Janna Rosenberg of Hastings-on-Hudson for their leadership and dedicated service to the community.
Ms. Golub received the Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award. She became involved with UJA’s Young Leadership Division while in college and has since held numerous positions, including chair of UJA Women and Westchester regional chair. She was also a member of UJA’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Cindy and her husband, Ben, along with their children, make UJA volunteerism a family value.
“UJA has always been a part of my adult life,” said Ms. Golub. “It’s been the place where I could fulfill the obligation that my parents and Jewish education taught me that I had: to make the world a better place. I met my husband through UJA and together we have always made UJA a top priority.”

Ms. Rosenberg received the Martha K. Selig Young Leadership Award. She is an active lay leader at UJA and Jewish Federations of North America’s Young Leadership Cabinet (NYLC), where she’s a co-vice chair for inclusion. Janna’s husband and children are also involved in UJA.
In her acceptance remarks, Ms. Rosenberg noted that involvement in UJA is a family affair. “I am frequently impressed by the depth of work UJA and its nonprofit partners do for diverse communities. From my grandmother coming to the United States with the help of HIAS and my children having life-changing educational experiences at the Marlene Meyerson JCC, to us packing backpacks and assembling care packages for families in need —we have benefited from and had meaningful interactions with UJA.”

Archie Gottesman, co-founder of JewBelong, gave the keynote address about the rise of antisemitism and fighting hatred head on.
In New York, a woman who gives a gift of $6,000 or more, individually or as a family, to UJA-Federation's annual campaign is recognized as a Lion.
