Where We Live: Catherine Wald presents Stories of Suburbia
With Larchmont celebrating its 125th anniversary, Catherine Wald will take a look at how our communities have been portrayed in literature.
Not long after the first suburbs were created in the wake of World War II, writers began to struggle to make sense of a lifestyle that may fall short of the paradise it was supposed to be, but definitely had its advantages. With Larchmont celebrating its 125th anniversary, Catherine Wald will take a look at how our communities have been portrayed by literary greats. Maybe we’ve got our seamy undersides, but we also enjoy particular pleasures and natural beauty that can’t be found in cities.

Books will be available in the library three weeks prior to each of Wald’s discussions.
