Not long after the first suburbs were created in the wake of World War II, writers have struggled to make sense of a lifestyle that may fall short of the paradise it was supposed to be, but definitely has its advantages. With Larchmont celebrating its 125th anniversary, we take a look at how our communities have been portrayed by literary greats. Maybe we’ve got our seamy undersides, but we also enjoy particular pleasures and natural beauty that can’t be found in cities. Books will be available three weeks before each session.
