Levittown Area District Judge, Deputy Constable Indicted On Conspiracy, Money Laundering Charges: Report

A judge, police supervisor, and constable were conspiring to launder money from variuos sources, including drug trafficking, reports say.

Three Bucks County officials have been indicted on conspiracy and money laundering charges according to reports.

Levitttown area District Judge John I. Waltman, 59, of Trevose; Lower Southampton Police Department and fire and emergency services supervisor Robert P. Hoopes, 69, of Doylestown; and Bucks County Deputy Constable Bernard T. Rafferty, 62, of Langhorne were all named in the indictment as having conspired to launder money from various sources, such as health care funds, drug trafficking, and bank fraud, the Bucks County Courier Times Reports.

The trio was looking at about $480,000 cash through their alleged conspiracy, according to the outlet.

If convicted, each faces up to 80 years prison time and up to $1 million in fines, the Times reports.
