Levittown, IT Board Elections To Be Uncontested
Two candidates will run for two open board positions in each election; all four candidates are incumbents.
Neither the Levittown nor the Island Trees school board elections for the 2012-13 school year will be contested.
District officials informed Patch that only two petitions for the two open trustee petitions were received by each district by Monday's 5 p.m. deadline.
The four candidates who submitted petitions are the current incumbents in each district.

According to Levittown district clerk Elizabeth Applebaum, the only two petitions she received were from current trustees Kevin Regan and Ed Powers. The two will run unopposed for their two open seats. The terms are three-year terms.
Island Trees superintendent Charles Murphy also told Patch that there were only two applicants for the two open Island Trees board positions.

Both of those applicants were incumbents as well. Board member Daniel Donahue, who has only held his seat for a year, will run unopposed, as will Kim McDonough, who completed a three-year term.
This is the second straight year that the Levittown school board will have an uncontested election. Last year, Mike Pappas, Peter Porrazzo and Frank Ward ran unopposed.
Last year's Island Trees election saw Ken Rochon, Donahue, Patricia Mahon and George Storm elected from a field of ten candidates.
Trustee votes, as well as a vote for each district's budget, will take place on May 15.
