Man Dies After Crashing Into Pole, Tree in Levittown

A Wantagh man was killed in a single-car crash in Levittown early Sunday morning, police said.

Eklind Veizas, 24, was driving his 2005 Toyota north on Wantagh Avenue in the vicinity of Grey Lane when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole and tree at about 3:39 a.m., police said.

Veizas was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle was impounded for brake and safety checks. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, police said.
