Police: Wading River Man Punched Woman at Greenport Bar
Incident occurred early Saturday, police say.

A Wading River man faces an assault charge after police say he punched a woman at a Greenport bar early Saturday morning.
According to Southold Town Police, at 2:41 a.m., Paul Houpe, 22, punched a 37-year-old woman in her face, knocking to her to the ground and causing a laceration above her left eye and severe pain in her face, at The Rhumb Line, located at 34 Front Street.
The woman was transported via Greenport Rescue to Eastern Long Island Hospital to be be treated for her injuries.

Houpe was identified as the suspect and was located at a residence in Greenport, where he was arrested, police said. He transported to police headquarters, processed and held for arraignment Saturday morning.
