Nassau Police Warn of 'Bad Batch' of Heroin Responsible for 6 Deaths

Nassau Police are warning of a "bad batch" of heroin that is believed to be the cause of 10 suspected overdoses, six of them fatal, in Atlantic City, N.J. over the past week.

Nassau Police say they are currently monitoring the drug outbreak.

The overdoses were reported within Atlantic City over the past week, including six on Wednesday, Jan. 26 between 4-10 p.m. Two of the overdoses on Wednesday were fatal and four people were revived with Narcan.

Nassau Police are asking local residents to be aware of the situation. Call 911 immediately if you know someone who may be using heroin and experiencing an overdose.
