Author Bergsman Returns to Levittown
The author of "Growing Up Levittown" returned a library book from 1966 and signed copies of "Growing Up Levittown" at the Levittown Historical Society.
Steve Bergsman returned to Levittown Friday to sign copies of his book "Growing Up Levittown" and return an outstanding library book.
Bergsman gave a presentation on his book at the Levittown Historical Society Museum, located in the Levittown Memorial Education Center.
He split the presentation into two parts. The first part reflected upon his past styles and how they made later comebacks. He showed the crowd a woven skinny tie, white jeans and a belt that his son took to college to illustrate his point.

In the second part of his presentation, Bergsman mentioned that it was his first time at the building since his jaw was broken during a fight at a dance in 1967. He re-told the story for the crowd. (You can read the story yourself at this link from the Huffington Post.)
Earlier in the day, Bergsman made a trip to the Island Trees High School library to return a book he originally took out in 1966.

The library book, titled "History of the United States of America, was originally taken out when Bergsman attended Island Trees High School.
Bergsman said he kept the book over the years but never returned it as he moved out of the area soon after graduation.
The Island Trees library said that they do not calculate late fees for overdue books. They estimated the number of books that go missing from their system each year to be "less than five."
