3 Arrested For Selling Alcohol To Minors During Inspection: SCPD

TOWN OF BABYLON, NY - Three people were arrested for selling alcohol to minors during an inspection on Thursday night, according to Suffolk Police.

Officers conducted a State Liquor Authority (SLA) inspection at 12 businesses in the First Precinct between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

According to police, the following three people were arrested during the SLA Inspection:

• MD Hossain, 38, an employee of Valero Gas on 355 Bay Shore Road in Deer Park was issued a field appearance ticket for prohibited sale of alcoholic beverage to a person less than 21 years old.
• Ezaz Baig, 38, an employee of Liberty Mart on 725 Wyandanch Avenue in West Babylon was issued a field appearance ticket for prohibited sale of alcoholic beverage to a person less than 21 years old.
• Sebahattin Cakir, 58, an employee of BP Gas on 195 E. Hoffman Avenue in Lindenhurst was issued two field appearance tickets for unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sale of alcoholic beverage to a person less than 21 years old.

The issued First District Court return date is April 9.

In addition, the following establishments complied and refused to sell alcohol to an underage police agent:

• Stop and Fuel, 257 Bay Shore Road in Deer Park
• Mobile Gas, 380 Commack Road in Deer Park
• BP Gas, 386 Commack Road in Deer Park
• Sunoco Gas, 1985 Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park
• Gulf Express, 1970 Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park
• Deer Park Express, 1901 Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park
• Speedway Gas, 1800 Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park
• OK Petroleum, 755 Deer Park Avenue in North Babylon
• Speedway Gas, 274 Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst
