Assemb. Jean-Pierre to Sponsor Free Smoke Alarm Installations
Residents in the 11th Assembly District are encouraged to register for April 11th Smoke Alarm event.

On Thursday, April 11th, Assemblywoman Jean-Pierre and the American Red Cross will be installing free smoke alarms for residents throughout the 11th Assembly District, which includes Amityville, Copiague, East Farmingdale, Lindenhurst, Wheatley Heights, Wyandanch, and parts of Deer Park, North Babylon and West Babylon. The installation event is part of the Red Cross’s “Sound the Alarm” campaign, which aims to install 100,000 free smoke alarms throughout the United States. More than 3,000 smoke alarms have been installed in homes on Long Island so far.
“Keeping our residents safe is one of my top priorities, and ensuring that all of our residents have up-to-date smoke alarms will help us save lives,” said Jean-Pierre. “I would like to thank the American Red Cross for organizing this campaign and I encourage my constituents in the 11th District to register for the April 11th installation event.”
Residents are encouraged to register to receive free smoke alarms by calling 516-229-1086 or online at www.SoundTheAlarm.org/LI. Homeowners must be present at the time of smoke alarm installation. For additional questions, please call Assemblywoman Jean-Pierre’s office at 631-957-2087.
