Photos: BACCA's Bluegrass Festival Delights Local Music Fans

Local and national musical acts offer up a day of 'down home' singing and picking at Babylon Town's Tanner Park.

Performers came from all over the country for 's at , but local acts were the highlights of this annual event much to the delight of the music fans from all around , including Lindenhurst.

The festival - which took place on , several days before the and - featured a fun-filled day of music, workshops and family entertainment. The energetic sets, "jamming," and general musical camaraderie of the participants – both on stage and in the audience – were on display this year, as in years past.

A group of players also celebrated what would have been the 100th birthday of Bill Monroe with a lovely tribute set to one of the fathers of bluegrass music.

Musicians and acts - including Vincent Cross, Maria Fairchild, Mike Burns, Free Grass Union, Buddy Merriam and Back Roads (the festival organizer), Foggy Mountain Hilton and closing act The Special Consensus - gave the crowd a day to remember, and sent a still-smiling group of over a thousand music fans home already looking forward to next year's festival put on by the .
