By invitation of Steve Bellone, Town of Babylon Supervisor, Lumière Ballet Performing Company will make its third annual Summer Gala appearance at Tanner Park in Copiague, Long Island on August 13 & 14, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 pm.
A full staging of the ballet Giselle is the highlight of the Summer Intensive Program. The role of Giselle is danced by Lumière Ballet exclusively trained principal dancer Aina Tadokoro, who will be partnered by internationally acclaimed dancer Venti Petrov. Special appearance of Gentle Giants, Courtesy of Grateful Greyhounds Organization.
Giselle is a tale of love and deceit – of heartbreak and forgiveness that goes beyond to the supernatural realm. This ballet was first seen in Paris in 1841 and since that year, it has been continuously presented around the world.
Founded and directed by Svetlana Caton-Noble and Venti Petrov, Lumière Ballet encompasses a year round Training Program and a Performing Company which presents fine works from the classical repertoire as well as new works at appearances throughout Long Island and New York City.
