UPDATE: Man Arrested After Robbing Lindenhurst 7-Eleven, Police Say
Lindenhurst man also attempted to rob a West Babylon gas station Sunday night, police say.

A Lindenhurst man was on arrested Sunday night for trying to a rob a West Babylon gas station and then robbing a Lindenhurst 7-Eleven about a half hour later, police said.
Francisco Gonzalez, 67, is charged with first degree robbery, first degree attempted robbery and seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
According to police, Gonzalez entered OK Petroleum, located at 569 Route 109 in West Babylon, and demanded money but fled without any proceeds at about 6:20 p.m. Sunday. He then entered the 7-Eleven at 175 Sunrise Highway, stated he had a gun and demanded cash at about 6:50 p.m., police said.

He fled in a Toyota Camry with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. First Precinct police officers observed a car fitting the description drive into an apartment complex parking lot at 8516 North Monroe Avenue in Lindenhurst at 11 p.m. The officers arrested Gonzalez and his wife, who were both in the car, police said.
Mary Gonzalez, 51, is charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released and will appear in court on a later date.

Francisco Gonzalez, who lives at 8516 North Monroe Avenue with his wife, was held overnight at the First Precinct for arraignment Monday at First District Court in Central Islip.
A North Lindenhurst 7-Eleven was robbed by two men on March 22. In that incident, two employees were hospitalized for a minor injuries suffered during the robbery. No arrests have been made in that case.
