Lindenhurst Moose Lodge Holds Brunch Fundraiser
Family brunch on Sunday raised money for two Moose charities, as well as awareness, as the volunteer organization seeks new members.
Featuring the usual scrumptious fare and capped off with brunch mainstays mimosas and bloody Marys, Sunday’s family brunch given by the Lindenhurst Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1421 served several purposes.
It brought families and members together for fun and food, and raised funds for the two primary Moose charities. Plus, it raised awareness about the fact that the Lodge is seeking to bolster member rolls with some new faces.
"We've opened the doors to the public to give them an idea of the things we do here, maybe get some interest [in us]," said Lodge Trustee Sal Dilluvio. "If we have somebody interested in becoming a Moose, then we'll take them through that phase and show them what we're all about."

What the Moose did Sunday was raise money for Mooseheart Child City and School, located outside Chicago, Illinois, and Moosehaven, near Jacksonville, Florida.
Mooseheart is a home for kids in need, and provides them with care and education if their parents have died or are unable to care for them. Moosehaven provides homes for older Moose members, in an assisted-living-style community.
