Local Shops Offer Last-Minute Gift Ideas

Stumped for that last-minute holiday present?

Looking for one more item to stuff in that stocking, or that will put the finishing touch on your gift-giving this year?

A host of small businesses throughout Lindenhurst are planning to be there for you late into Saturday.

From Montauk to Sunrise Highways, along and around North and South Wellwood Avenue, retail shops are still stocking everything from fashion accessories and gourmet food items to after-dinner cigars and gift baskets.

Here are a few locations, and tips for last-minute holiday purchasing, from Lindenhurst Patch:

• At , 437 North Wellwood AVenue, John Frenna’s got a wide array of colorful holiday flower arrangements, as well as stuffed toys, stocking stuffers and other gift items with flair.

• Marilina’s Boutique, and proprietor Malina Cucinella, have a wide variety of ladies’ fashion accessories - belts, jewelry, handbags, scarves, rings and other items - including a number of stocking stuffers for less than $10. Open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, there are last minute 60 percent offerings on a number of items in the 51 West Hoffman Avennue shop.

• Speaking of gift certificates, check out ’s 25-percent-off holiday break - or certificates at such other locations as , 125A South Wellwood Avenue.

• Gift baskets of fine chocolates and other confectionaries are on hand at on South Wellwood - not to mention cookie trays and other baked goods at Cieslak’s, Patsy’s and Black Forest .

• A number of shops will be open into the late evening in the Village Seaport Plaza on East Montauk Highway, including , where there are last-minute materials for wrapping presents, as well as a variety of Lotto, and scratch-off tickets; , for toys and treats for the family ; and , for champagne, wine and holiday mixers.

• Then there’s the General Store Smoke Shop on South Wellwood, for those who fancy a cigar from the walk-in humidor.

According to Frenna, the Lindenhurst Village program, which consists of a coupon that give $5 off a purchase of $20 or more in participating businesses, remains in effect until Christmas Eve.
