Lindenhurst Businesses Offer Holiday Weekend Deals

After shopping the big-box stores on Black Friday, why not do some bargain-hunting and share some of those dollars earmarked for the holiday gift-giving season with some local Lindenhurst businesses?

Well, that's exactly the idea behind Small Business Saturday. Set for the second year in a row for the , it's a day dedicated to supporting and putting money back into the community on the busiest shopping weekend of the year.

"We encourage everyone in the Lindenhurst community to support their this Saturday, November 26," said Shawn Cullinane, Administrator for the Village of Lindenhurst.

Among those local businesses is Linden Florist, which will be offering a special with American Express. Shoppers who spend $25 or more on this Saturday, November 26, can register with AmEx to receive a $25 statement credit.

Linden Florist has a variety of holiday arrangements that include family gathering centerpieces, potted and basket arrangements and a classic cornucopia arrangement, plus many others to fit others on residents' shopping lists.

For all of the musicians in Lindenhurst, Music Arts will have a number of specials not only for Black Friday, but also for Small Business Saturday, and for Sunday, too.

For one the store will have a 15 percent off coupon on any regularly priced item. On Friday it'll have a 20 percent off coupon on any regularly priced item. Other deals for musicians include acoustic guitars for $69, drum sets for $99 and a bass guitar with a free acoustic amplifier for $199.

A holiday guide is also available in the store that will feature other coupons inside.

Another local shop is . One of Lindenhurst's oldest restaurants, it opened up in 1915. Now under the ownership of Steve Petrakis since April 2010, the eatery will be closed for Thanksgiving, but will be happily open for Small Business Saturday.

Take a break from shopping in the village and order an egg salad sandwich with a cup of homemade soup (large fountain drink included) or a grilled cheese with a cup of homemade soup.

For the four-legged set, - an upscale beauty parlor for pets and the latest edition to the Lindenhurst neighborhood - will be doing free nail trimmings on Saturday.

At - which is operated by Wash Bathija - local Lindy shoppers will find 10 percent off on all wines in the store for Friday and Saturday. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. to accommodate shoppers.

, a family-owned paint supplies company in Lindenhurst since 1951, will also be extending specials this weekend.

On Friday and Saturday the shop will offer $2 to $5 off Benjamin Moore paint (with primer in them) that's green promise (eco-friendly paint). It'll also be having a buy one, get one free sale for two-ounce and 16-ounce color samples.
