
A Pennsylvania woman was struck and killed by a car in Amityville Tuesday morning, police said.
According to police, Yeimy Pichardo-Cruz, of Amityville, was driving a 2002 Acura SUV and making a left turn out of a parking lot to travel east on Oak Street when her vehicle struck 52-year-old Lora Rohner, who was walking across Oak Street at about 9:30 a.m.
The accident west of Route 110 near the Amityville Library.

Rohner was transported to Saint Joseph Hospital in Bethpage, where she was pronounced dead. Pichardo-Cruz, 31, was not injured. No criminal charges have been filed.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call First Squad detectives at 631-854-8152.
