Hofstra Student Found Dead in Dorm

Hofstra University is in mourning after the sudden death of a student in a dormitory Sunday.

Officials said Olivia McClellan, of California, was found dead Sunday morning in Enterprise Hall, a high rise dorm on the north side of campus.

Nassau County Police said they are still investigating what led to McClellan’s death.

“As a community, we mourn for Olivia and extend our thoughts and prayers to her friends and family during this difficult time,” university officials said, adding that “the entire Hofstra community is saddened by the loss…”

The school is offering counseling and support services to students in need. More information is included in the school’s statement below:
