Police: Hair-Pulling Incident on School Bus Led to N. Amityville Shooting
Man shoots grandfather of boy he suspected of pulling his daughter's hair, police say.

A Roosevelt man upset that his 6-year-old daughter had her hair pulled by another student on a school bus went to the North Amityville home of the boy he suspected of pulling her hair and shot the boy’s grandfather twice on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Anthony Franklin, 29, was arrested Wednesday for the shooting, which sent the grandfather to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
According to police, Franklin went to an Albany Avenue home around 3:50 p.m. Tuesday and started an altercation with 48-year-old Wilson McWilliams. Franklin pulled out a gun and shot McWilliams twice, police said.

McWilliams was transported via police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was listed stable condition.
Franklin is charged with second degree assault and is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
