T&J Limo & Car Service Reopens in New Lindenhurst Locale
Local business unveils new Smith Street location, promotes its Friends for a Cause charity to help families with terminally ill children.
T and J Limousine and Car Service has been giving rides - weddings, proms, to and from the airport, etc. - to the residents of Lindenhurst since 2004. Now the company's taking a ride of its own, but not too far.
The - which is owned by John and Penny Casey - has relocated from Newark Street to 127 Smith Street, smack dab in the middle of the village, behind the post office.
The reason? There's more space and a more centralized locale, and the hope is that it'll lead to more business, which has been sporadic in the last few years due to the recession.

In fact, T and J is a member of the CoC, and members of the Chamber, including its president, , turned out Tuesday afternoon for the ribbon-cutting marking the firm's grand re-opening in the new Smith Street locale.
Boettcher said it's great to see a local business continue to grow within the streets of Lindenhurst.
"We're here to support them," she said. "We do a ribbon-cutting, get their picture out [there], we try and tell everybody about them; that's the way you build a community, by everybody working together."
T and J not only chauffeurs those who are about to walk down the aisle. They also provide free car service for families who have terminally ill children. All rides to the hospital are taken care of, and Penny Casey has expanded on that.
She's started the non-profit group Friends for a Cause, which raises money for the families with sick children. Rides are great, but money for medical expenses - that's even better.
"We've done [fundraising] for other organizations, [and] we've now expanded on our own to be able to help [families] directly. So combined with T and J and Friends for a Cause, we're out there trying to help children," Penny said.
To that end, the group's will be held next March at . For more information call 631-957-2626, or email Friendsforacause@aol.com.
