Town of Babylon Residents Get a Lyft Thanks to the IDA

Babylon's Industrial Development Agency Partners with Lyft to Offer Ride Credits on Small Business Saturday

The Babylon Industrial Development Agency (IDA) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Lyft—a leading ride-sharing and group-ride service company—to celebrate Small Business Saturday within the Town of Babylon. The promotion, which will take place on Saturday, November 24 between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., is geared toward connecting Town of Babylon residents and individuals within the surrounding area with the great shopping opportunities made available by the hundreds of small businesses located throughout the Town of Babylon.

“Small Business Saturday is all about celebrating the local businesses that drive the success of our local economies and highlight the quality goods and services they provide,” said Tom Dolan, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Babylon IDA. “Through this partnership with Lyft, our residents and those looking to travel into the Town of Babylon will have an additional incentive to shop local during the first official shopping weekend of the holiday season.”

Using technologies employed by Lyft, a geo-fence will be placed around the boundaries of the Town of Babylon allowing the promotion code to only be accessed by Lyft customers travelling within or to the Town of Babylon. If the rider matches the location criteria and is travelling between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., they will be able to enter in the promotion code TOBIDA to receive a $10 credit on their trip.
