Russ Camarda, who co-stars in an upcoming independent film with TV Star Robert Clohessy, talks about his passion for movies and offers advice to aspiring actors.
Lindenhurst resident has always had a dream to be an actor. He recently talked with Lindenhurst Patch about how he made it happen.
He began by studying in New York City as a stage actor for several years before getting into the independent film scene here on Long Island.
Since then Camarda's portrayed everything from a priest with a dark past in Lower than the Angels and a tough talking videographer who finds a heart in The Video Guys to a vampire musician who finds true love and longs to escape the darkness in Night for Day.

In his latest movie role as the villain Iceman in the new independent film The Night Never Sleeps, Camarda (Blue Bloods and Boardwalk Empire).
Camarda's scene with Clohessy for the Fred Carpenter-directed police drama was filmed in Lindenhurst back in during the same time - due out this Summer - at Sorto's on South Wellwood Avenue.

The movie also features Dan Brennan and Lindenhurst-born actress and stuntwoman . Several scenes for the movie - which Camarda is also co-producing - were shot across Long Island in before the holidays, including one at in on December 4.
