Woman Says She Found Baby She Just Gave Birth To: Police
Child Protective Services is investigating after the bizarre incident on Long Island Monday night.

COPIAGUE, NY – A woman who told police that she found a baby outside a Long Island shopping center Monday night had actually just given birth to the baby, according to Suffolk Police.
The woman, who police did not name, is now hospitalized and the baby is in stable condition.
Police were called to the corner of Oak and Cedar streets in Copiague at 7:35 p.m. Monday. When officers arrived, they found the woman and baby outside the Oak Plaza shopping center.

Child Protective Services and the SCPD Special Victims Unit are investigating the reason for the mother's actions and whether the woman has any other children, police said.
