5th Annual Folk 2 Funk Festival Starts Friday
Long Beach Public Lirbary hosting bands during three-day festival.

The 5th Annual Folk 2 Funk Music Festival kicks off their celebration Friday at the Long Beach Public Library.
The three-day festival will bring bands with unique sounds to the library for free performances this weekend.
While every event is free, donations are welcome. Officials will also be collecting non-perishable foods that will be distributed to nearby food pantries.

- 7:30 p.m. Steve Adelson- “Chapman Stick Man” Trio
- 8:30 p.m. Funky Folks: featuring Broadway World Award winner for Best Female Vocalist, Pamela Lewis, joined by John Hurley, Sean & Donna Gillen of Code Bleu
Come down to LOLA’s-right after the Library show- Have a cocktail and enjoy the funky music of “The Sweet Soul Music Band” at 9:30. No Cover
Saturday
- 1 p.m. Children (6-10) and their families participate in an interactive music/movement program featuring Robin Greenstein in the auditorium- instruments provided
- 1:45 p.m. In the Youth Services Room make and decorate your own instruments from recycled materials
- 3:00 - Suzanne Sheridan Band: featuring the music of Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell
- 7 p.m. Robin Greenstein- Women in Folk Music
- 7:45 p.m. Feral Matt Foster- Brooklyn’s own “Roots n’ Ruckus” singer/songwriter
- 8:30 p.m. Fred Thomas Band- Former James Brown Bass Man delivers Funk and Soul
