Aren't We Better Than This?

Sometimes that display of love hurts, not the intended receiver but other innocents.

I’m talking about the use and misuse of balloons. You’ve heard it before, no doubt, but we have in Long Beach a painter whose message is beautiful and poignant.

Juliet has been painting her message on the boardwalk in Long Beach in mural form. She doesn’t use a lot of paint, but what she uses has power beyond words.

I was so moved by her art and message that I thought it a good time to reveal my own method of post-celebration balloon use. It hurts no creature, and even brings some laughs. You just gotta relax and enjoy the show

After reading about the post and seeing the photos you too might be inclined to take part. Hey, it’s a way to keep the fun going without harm. What can be better? More importantly, why do we need to release balloons, and harm wildlife anyway? Aren’t we better than that?
