Watch An Army Mom Make Surprise Visit To Her Kids' School

The Army sergeant hadn't seen her kids since Thanksgiving, and decided to surprise them with a special visit on Friday.

U.S. Army Sgt. Shanasia Lowe has been stationed overseas for months. She hasn't seen her children since Thanksgiving. However, she had a brief stop in New York on Friday, and set up something special: she decided to surprise her kids at their school in Long Beach.

Lowe's son, Ja'Mell Jones, and his third grade class at East Elementary School in Long Beach were taken to the library Friday morning for a special presentation. They knew there was a special guest joining them, and many thought it was Ja'Mell's younger sister, Jai’liyah Gaines, a pre-schooler at the Lido School. And while they were right, it wasn't the whole story.

Ja'Mell and Jai'liyah were both ecstatic when they saw their mother walk into the library. Jai'liyah ran into her mother's arms, and Ja'Mell ran to give his mom a hug. Here's the heartwarming video of their reunion.

After she was reunited with her kids, Lowe stuck around and answered questions from the other children in the class. However, she was only home for 10 hours, so her trip was short. However, both her kids were dismissed from school early to spend some quality time with their mom.
