Bathroom faucets

What you need to know about bathroom faucets

Most people can not describe the faucet they have been using to wash their face or brush their teeth during their daily routine for years.
It's a work horse delivering water when commanded.

So now it needs to be retired and replaced, so how to choose?

Well, faucets generally breakdown into two catagories...

Low and high spouts

THE GREAT DEBATE.........

Simply put, lower spouts leave less room underneath for your hands, hair wahing and cups fulls of water.
Their generally appeal to more classic design.

Higher spouts can be classic, transisition and contemporary but have the dreaded reputation of splashing.

I often hear the same response, I don' want a high spout they splash.
As i tell my clients, exactly how much water presure and volumn do you need to accompolish your every day chores.

If you are experiencing splashing, then turn down the volumn.

Maybe it' s the sink's depth fault. Many sinks are very shallow.

So which do you prefer more room in the sink or alittle splashing?

The great debate continues

SECOND DECISION

lever or cross handles

If you are experiencing any difficulties with your hands or fingers, then lever is the way to go.
It is the choice of the American Disibilities Act (ADA
It requires less effort to manuver.
From a design standpoint it is available in both contemporary, transisitional and classic styling.

Cross handles are the tried and true model of classic design.
They have been around forever, noted for their white ceramic inserts with the (H or C) delineations.

While more intricate, they are harder to clean.

So

lower spout with cross handle
lower spout with lever handles
higher spout with cross handles
higher spout with lever handles

These decision are yours, although in my next blog I will continue to break down the difference in which faucet configuration to choose

single hole 4" mini widespread or 8" widespread

So till next time, thank you for reading my blog
