The city will be installing cameras along a stretch of the boardwalk starting this year.
Make sure to be on your best behavior on the boardwalk this year. The City of Long Beach is going to be installing security cameras to keep an eye on the city's most popular attraction.
The cameras will be installed on a stretch of the boardwalk between Long Beach and National boulevards, according to Newsday. The goal, officials say, is to have the cameras act as a deterrent for people skating and walking dogs on the boardwalk.
Officials said the cameras wouldn't be used to issue tickets, but as a deterrent for prohibited behavior.
