When a cop asks you for ID do you ever think of what might be on his mind? Let me shed a little light for you.

For a cop, nothing is really...routine.

We may have been asked for ID for a traffic infraction, or any other wide area of circumstances. If not, I’m sure you’ve observed a police officer asking others for ID.

Do you ever think of why he takes a defensive stand, body posture, or why he demands certain directions of movement of you to take? “Stay in your vehicle,” etc.

You might think he or she is being overly officious, unnecessarily cautious. Why does he have his hand over his gun? After all you are not dangerous!

But in the tedium of a cop’s everyday actions he knows if he is careless, if he is sloppy, he may not go home that day.
