See It: Car Split in Half in Oceanside Crash, Driver 'Miraculously' Walks Away
Only minor injuries reported in crash on Long Beach Road Tuesday afternoon.

A driver whose car was torn in half in a crash in Oceanside Tuesday afternoon “miraculously” escaped serious injury, according to a post on the Oceanside Fire Department‘s Facebook page.
Emergency responders rushed to Long Beach Road near West Windsor Parkway just after 4 p.m. after a report of a two-car crash, according to Nassau County Police.

The force of the collision sent one of the cars into a nearby telephone pole, which ripped the car “totally in half,” the fire department’s post says.

Police said one person was transported to the hospital. Oceanside fire officials said the driver of the car that was split in half was “miraculously ambulatory” after the crash and suffered only minor injures.
No criminality is suspected in the crash, police said.
The collision caused a large fuel spill which prompted a temporary shutdown of the roadway.
