There’s a lightness even to the icy air as it frosts windows and turns noses redder than even too many eggnogs can. But it’s the giving, the offering of tokens of love through gracious gifts that makes it the most special, Joyful.

I know a couple who put as much effort in giving, in a mid summer feast, as most of you do for your families at Christmas time. They do it for the same reason too, to express kindness, gratitude, love of those near to them and dear to them. And it goes way beyond their family.
They’ve been doing their summer pig roast for two decades now. And each summer they hope the weather will be kind to them, while secretly…I’d sooner see a monsoon.
