City is Seeking Nominations for Worthy People to Light the Christmas Tree

Do you know someone who represents the best of Long Beach? Nominate them to light the Kennedy Plaza tree.

The City of Long Beach is looking for someone to light the Kennedy Plaza Christmas Tree, and it's asking the community for nominations.

The city will light the tree on Friday, Dec. 2, and officials are looking for someone great to join them. They want to know who has done great things for the community this year -- whether it is a neighbor helping a neighbor, a teacher going the extra mile, someone serving in the military or just someone or a group that deserves the recognition.

All of the names submitted will be imprinted on ornaments to be placed on the tree in Kennedy Plaza. The City Council will introduce the nominees to the crowd and together they will officially light the tree.
